A Parody of Milton

When I considered what the surfer meant
For half a day I just could not decide
What hidden talent, which so mystified
Allowed my fellow man to represent
Abilities that he could not invent.
A true account, which logic so defied,
Was yet a matter not to be denied.
I asked a question which was pertinent
To my confusion. His reply: "I need
No mouse or keyboard to perform my best
And give my soul the freedom that it craves."
Then with a flash of insight I succeed
And state these words, which put my mind at rest,
"They also surf who only stand on waves!"
